SKIN NEEDLING
Skin Needling or CIT (collagen induction therapy) is a procedure carried out to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal itself. This is an excellent treatment for fine lines, wrinkles, scars, acne scars, large pores and dull tired-looking skin. At Regency Aesthetics we use SkinPen Precision, FDA cleared, with CE mark medical-grade registration. It has the only 100% completely sealed cartridge to prevent fluid intake and has single-use needles.
With SkinPen Precision we are able to control and alter the depth of the needles, so we are able to achieve the best possible results and provide a bespoke treatment plan to maximise results.
SkinPen creates thousands of controlled micro-injuries to the skin to stimulate the natural healing process. This is the formation of collagen and elastin over a period of 4 weeks. After a few days, you will notice your skin feeling smoother and softer, it is usual to see improved texture and firmness.
SkinPen is excellent and can help correct fine lines and wrinkles, acne scars, melasma, rosacea, scaring from trauma or surgical scars, stretch marks, hyperpigmentation or irregular skin tone.
We are unable to use Skinpen on active acne but a course of chemical skin peels prior to skin needling can help control acne.
Long term results and healthy skin can be achieved by a course of treatments. It is also possible to have micro-needling on the neck and decolletage.

The Procedure
You will be provided with a topical anesthetic that needs to be applied an hour before your appointment. This will be removed and your skin will be cleaned and disinfected. Serum is applied afterwards and you will be required to continue using this until the product is finished, you also receive a calming and soothing moisturising cream.
Skin needling has minimal downtime, you will experience redness initially, but this will reduce quickly, and the procedure should be reasonably comfortable.
Timescales
Following the procedure, your skin will be red and flushed, but this varies from person to person. The skin may feel tight and dry and it is possible to experience a small amount of peeling. Using the serum and lotion provided will help with this and also drinking lots of water.
Post-treatment information and advice will be given to you by your aesthetic practitioner.
The treatment takes approximately 30- 40 minutes.
Due to the nature of the healing process results will continue to improve. Following a course of treatment, optimum results are visible at around 3 -6 months.
